Moving to Fripp Island

I thought I'd start blogging about my adventures. I'm interning on Fripp Island this summer in South Carolina. I thought this might be a great way to keep in touch and share what I'm doing with everyone.

I've been on Fripp Island two weeks now. It's about 5 1/2 hours from Marietta. I'm really enjoying life here so far. It's taken some adjusting. People are all about relaxing and enjoying themselves with a few drinks.

This is where the girl interns live.
It's like a motel.

This is where the guy interns live.
It's a $600,000 place overlooking the marina and marsh.

The most important thing is that I live on an island with beach access at all times. Who can complain?

I work in the recreation department at the resort. I work activities like Camp Fripp (ages 3-12), the climbing tower, beach hut, arts & crafts social programs, Kid's Night Out, Family Movie Night, teen nights, photo scavenger hunts, poolside Bingo, and more. All the programs are based from the activity center. It's a very cool place. They have cats, snakes, turtles, legless lizards, toads, and Irwin the Alligator.

This is the Activity Center.
We have 9 snakes, I think.
Evil the cat (who is not actually evil) likes to hang out with the turtles in their cage.

More pictures of the island & my summer here are on their way!
